- Posted on: 01/15/2021 -

Rest, reconnect and re-energise during this unique Nurturing Nature retreat, nestled within 350 acres of woodland and farm, at the foot of the volcanic mountain Slieve Gullion. This restorative relaxation break is an opportunity for you to totally switch off and reconnect with nature. The experience includes 2 x two hours of forest bathing immersions, forest bathing/ Shinrin Yoku is an evidence-based wellness practice which evolved in Japan as a stress prevention intervention. Two hours in the forest boosts your immunity for up to 10 days. You will taste this special landscape during a tea ceremony in the forest with tea especially prepared from our own herbs and plants.

Relax in our Spa with a one-hour treatment of your choice and chill out and enjoy our gentle walks throughout the Estate. Enjoy our home grown, local and seasonal produce during your dining experience with us. Join our Head Chef on a Forest tea-making workshop using produce from the farm. You will leave this experience with your own unique blend of Killeavy Estate tea, taking a taste of the forest and its holistic benefits home with you.

This event is provided by Ann Ward from Xhale who has a deep spiritual connection to Slieve Gullion through her family heritage. She delivers immersive, mindfulness experiences, courses and retreats including a Sacred Sites Tour of Killeavy, using the gifts of meditation and the landscape which are personalised to suit the visitor. Please see details of her Sacred Sites tour of Killeavy, where she tells the story of the origins of the name of Killeavy Castle Estate.
