1. Where are you from, tell us a bit about your background.
I come from a small village called Burren, in County Down. I started working in hospitality when I was sixteen, in a local hotel called The Whistledown Hotel, where I explored all the various departments such as food and beverage, accommodation and front of house. I studied Media Studies and Production at Ulster University in Coleraine. While studying at university I continued to work in The Whistledown Hotel, where I discovered hospitality was the career I wanted to pursue. I started at Killeavy Castle Estate just over a year ago as a waitress in the Hotels Bistro Bar, and recently have been promoted to the position of Bistro Bar Supervisor.
2. What exactly does your position at Killeavy Castle Estate entail?
I am very proud to be the Bistro Bar Supervisor at Killeavy Castle Estate. It is my job to ensure that our guests have the very best and most memorable experience, whether that be sipping on a delicious cocktail, or feasting on a tasty meal made from the homegrown produce of the estate.
3. What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I always enjoy meeting new people. At Killeavy Castle Estate I get the chance to meet all different kinds of amazing and interesting people, from the residents that stay in the hotel and the locals who are just taking a stroll through the grounds.
4. What do you love most about Killeavy Castle Estate?
I love the amazing forest and scenic areas surrounding the estate, it makes coming to work not so bad when you have a beautiful view to look at all day.
5. What is an interesting fact about you?
I love animals. Growing up my family always had animals, such as dogs, rabbits, chickens and even bees. That’s what makes working at Killeavy Castle Estate even better; getting to see all the farm animals every day, especially our two Irish Wolfhounds.
