1. Where are you from, tell us a bit about your background.
I come from a small village called Bessbrook, in County Armagh. I have lived in Bessbrook most of my life and moved to England for three years when I was 18 to study Psychology at the University of Plymouth.
I moved back home after my studies in 2021 and started at Killeavy Castle Estate as a receptionist. Almost a year later I was promoted to Front Office Supervisor, and now I am working in the events department as the Events Coordinator.
2. What exactly does your position at Killeavy Castle Estate entail?
As the Events Coordinator, I am responsible for planning every detail of an event. From corporate meetings to fairytale weddings, it is my responsibility to ensure that the day is organised and runs smoothly.
When taking couples on viewings of our wedding venue, it is my job to bring the fairytale to life. To envision what their big day would look like. Although this is never difficult as Killeavy Castle sells itself.
3. What do you enjoy the most about your job?
Meeting new people. I love meeting and building a personal rapport with guests, especially our wedding couples.
I love that they put their trust in me to ensure their day will be perfect, and I love the feeling of being as excited as they are about their wedding day!
4. What do you love most about Killeavy Castle Estate?
I simply cannot choose what I love most about Killeavy Castle Estate. I love that I work in one of the most beautiful, scenic areas in Ireland and I love that the staff are like a big family. Not to mention our beautiful Irish Wolfhounds, Papworth and Foxall.
5. What is an interesting fact about you?
I come from a very musical-orientated family; especially my talented Granny, who had me involved in all things music from the age of 3. From a young age, I was able to play the piano, guitar, violin, and drums - and I can sing (although you’ll only ever hear me humming at my computer when I’m concentrating!)
